What ever kind of pasta or noodles you are having you have got to accompany it with a good tasty sauce. And if you can make it healthy you have a real winner.
Here is an easy raw marinara sauce to use on your cooked pasta, your raw zucchini fettucini or your zoodles (noodles made out of raw zucchini). What can be easier than putting together tomatoes and some spices. But do not the simplicity fool you. It is delish!
Quick Easy Raw Marinara Sauce
Put into your blender…….
4-5 ripe tomatoes, 1 red bell pepper, about a 1/2 cup chopped rehydrated sun-dried tomatoes, 1 garlic clove. Add in a little sweet and a little salty, about a Tbsp of maple syrup and himalayan crystal salt or sea salt to taste. Add a large pinch of fresh thyme and about a 1/2 cup of chopped fresh basil.
I also like to add about 1/2 of a zucchini to thicken the sauce up. Zucchini is great for this because it has a neutral flavor that does not interfere with the rest of the ingredients. I do the same thing when making fresh dressings.
Some people will add a little olive oil to this mixture but as you know I go sans-oil!
Blend till smooth. Season to Taste.
Top your choice of pasta or zoodles with this healthy raw marinara.
And beyond all feel free to improvise! Everything is adjustable to your taste!
